First-time homebuyers in Marin will receive an $8,000 tax credit, and ‘move-up’ buyers will receive $6,500. These amounts end up in your pocket in full: these are not amounts you deduct from your income. There is an income limit, along with other rules. Single buyers must make $125,000 or less, couples: $225,000.
